Are you a NURSE? Do you want to work in Australia?

To work as a nurse in Australia, one must be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board. There are two available pathways:

1. Initial Registration for Overseas Registered Nurses (IRON)

This is a 3 month bridging program (4 weeks of theory and 8 weeks of clinical placement) designed to provide knowledge, skills and understanding to practice safely and competently according to the standards set by Australian law. After the program, you can register with the Nursing And Midwifery Board (NMB) and practice as a registered nurse.

Requirements for Admission:

  • Current registration as a registered nurse
  • Letter from Australian Health Professionals Regulation Agency (AHPRA) stating your eligibility
  • IELTS score of at least 7 in all testing components

2. Enrolled Nurse Training Course

This course takes between 12 to 24 months. Once you graduate with a Diploma of Nursing, you can register with the NMB and practice as an enrolled nurse.

Requirements for Admission:

  • At least a high school diploma
  • An IELTS score of at least 6.5 in all testing components
